Waste Minimisation

Understanding the way waste is generated is fundamental to the effective management of it.

Our experience in process engineering adds value to our approach and determines the processes we apply.

Source: Initially we look to reduce the source of the waste. This may be in using alternative equipment, controlling the amount of inputted chemicals, or in the substitution of alternatives that are natural and less harmful or require smaller quantities.

The aim is to reduce the costly ‘end-of-line’ treatments later on. We apply robust scientific methods that are proven to be as technologically efficient as traditional methods.

Recycle and reuse: recovering usable materials and equipment following treatment saves costs, reduces waste and increases operating efficiency. See our page on Recycle and Reuse for more details.

Treatment: Where possible we reduce the volumes of waste by various methods. We reduce the water content of sludges, remove heavy metals from waste liquids, and compress machinery or equipment into components for either disposal or recycling.
