Identify
Asbestos Management, Surveys and Sampling
In managing asbestos, your first steps are to:
Identify where it is
What form it takes
How much is there
What condition is it in
There are two types of surveys available: (See links above)
If you’re not sure which survey is best for you, contact us.
Management Survey
Management Survey
A visual survey with samples
This is the most common form of survey. A site visit and full visual inspection of all parts of the property and is followed by multiple samples being taken from any suspect materials for laboratory analysis.
The laboratory information is included in a comprehensive and accurate survey report and includes the asbestos risks that you and your workers could be exposed to and a management plan to allow you to ensure no one is exposed to any asbestos that is present
Refurbishment/Demolition Survey
A fully intrusive survey with samples
This type of survey usually takes place prior to a demolition or major refurbishment of a building that involves dismantling of parts of the structure.
In this survey we dig into wall cavities, roof voids, ducting and hard to reach places.
We take samples from deep in the fabric of the property, and it is a process designed to uncover every possible location of asbestos
Sampling and Analysis
Samples are taken by our trained surveyors for laboratory analysis.
The sampling is carried out discreetly and with minimum disturbance, with no mess or dust.
The information is included in the completed survey document
Individual samples can be taken of suspect materials for re-assurance
Air monitoring samples can also be taken to confirm or exclude the presence of asbestos fibres in the atmosphere
Reporting
We produce a full survey report of our findings and recommendations, including:
An outline plan of your building showing where we have discovered, or presume, asbestos is present.
Photographic information of the areas affected by the presence of asbestos materials
Data sheets showing the risks and requirements necessary to manage the asbestos
How much asbestos there is present, what condition it is in and the form that it takes.
Full recommendations on future management of all asbestos containing materials
Detail of all remedial works that are required to safely manage the asbestos present.
Full details of the safe management and monitoring of the asbestos materials
The report is completely confidential. It is primarily assembled to make sure that anyone who accessing or works in the property and may accidentally disturb any asbestos materials present is able to look at the report and plan.
This allows them to make sure that they know where it is and not accidentally or purposefully disturb it.
Dispose
If it is essential we can manage the removal of asbestos from your building, we will guide you through the process.
Removal: Asbestos disposal is a highly technical and complex procedure that can only be carried out by qualified and licensed companies
We can arrange the replacement of materials with non-asbestos substitutes or have it encapsulated so it is safe, and get your business back to normal quickly and smoothly and will provide you with the most cost effective solution to your problems, promptly and safely.

Asbestos Survey Type 1 A Presumptive Survey
A Presumptive Survey
This most basic survey involves a visual inspection of your premises. No samples are taken, and no deeper investigations take place.
Although this appears to be a cheap option, we are required to presume that any suspicious material is asbestos, and this may have a costly impact on your
management plan.
